Where the data goes
“By default, your data is hosted in the European Union”, and explicitly using the US endpoint places data in the United States. Temporary transfers outside the Union remain possible depending on the feature used, to the subprocessors listed in the Trust Center, under standard contractual clauses. The Enterprise offer allows disabling those features at organisation level.
Retention and training
Retention follows the duration of processing, with cases framed by law. The identity provided when opening the account is kept five years after the contract ends, other account data one year after deletion, and invoices ten years. The editor states it only touches them in case of dispute.
On training, inputs and outputs may feed the editor's programmes, with a right to withdraw at any time. The procedure depends on the service: consumers are not excluded by default, Enterprise customers are, and the setting sits on the administration side.
When to use it from a sovereign platform
This is the only frontier provider whose default hosting is European, which removes the debate about transfers outside the Union as long as the default endpoint is used. Training on inputs remains possible, so the opt-out must be set explicitly.
